We care for your critters in their own home and maintain their established routines in order to reduce the impact of your absence and anxiety based behaviors.

While you are gone, we provide complementary wraparound services, such as bringing in packages, mail, taking out the trash, watering household plants and so forth. You will return to find your home and your four-legged companion, precisely as you left them.

At Sit. Stay. Slay we value respect and will respect your pet, your space, and everything in it. We will not utilize, consume, or engage with anything in your home unless expressly encouraged by you to do so. We observe a strict no-snooping policy.  (you will find your pantry and your wine cabinet precisely as you left them, too).

Do the fees vary depending on animal?

No. At Sit. Stay. Slay. DC Pet Care we define our services by time allotted/scheduled. A pet sitting overnight visit will be billed the same without regard to animal type. The same is true for pop-in services. Our service fees are determined & billed by time invested with a defined expectation of specific tasks to be accomplished within that time frame.

Are there any additional fees?

Our Pet Care our goal is to streamline costs with flat rates. However, in order to perform the broad range of services we would like to offer, there are some special circumstances that do require additional fees.

  • 50% surcharge for all services performed on major holidays.

  • Third pet & Additional pets thereafter (more than 2) $5 per

  • Incontinence / per incident

  • Involved medical care: administration of subcutaneous fluids, injections, wound care & dressing changes.

Why an incontinence fee? What is considered incontinence?

A pet care surcharge for incontinence is an additional fee applied when a pet has an indoor “accident.” These surcharges are necessary because incontinence demands extra time, resources, and specialized attention from staff. The surcharge covers services beyond standard care—such as bathing your pet and sanitizing your home—to ensure both your pet’s comfort and your clean living environment.

Defining incontinence: throughout the duration of the pet sit, if your pet requires cleanup for urine or feces within the home, you will be charged a cleanup fee per incident. Sometimes pets have accidents indoors due to: stress, medication, change in diet, or illness. It is important to check with your vet if your pet is suffering from incontinence so that you can determine the root issue and possible underlying medical issues do not go undiagnosed.

What is considered simple medication?

Simple medications would be medication that can be added to your pet’s food or given in a manner which your pet finds agreeable (treats).

Medications that your pet will not willingly take orally, intramuscular or subcutaneous injections, and simple dressing changes do incur a small additional fee of $10. Subcutaneous fluids and involved wound dressings would be examples of more involved medical services which would incur an additional fee of $20.

On which holidays is there a surcharge?

Why use a professional Pet Sitting service when there are people online willing to Pet Sit for free?

Security and safety. It is not surprising that there are people that would offer to come into your home unsupervised for an expedited period of time.  Just as you would not hand your keys over to a stranger on the street, it is sensible that you would look for security and safety in a Pet Sitter.
